The Introduction of Fuzhou Museum

Fuzhou Municipal Museum, built in June, 1984 and renovated in June, 2007, officially opened on September 1st , 2010. Located in NO.586 of Yingbin Avenue, north of City Administration Center, Fuzhou Municipal Museum adjoins Fuzhou Municipal Library and Tang Xianzu Grand Theater. The museum covers an area of 4000 square meters, with a construction area of 12600 square meters.

Currently, Fuzhou Municipal Museum has a collection of over 35000 pieces of cultural relics, including Porcelain, pottery, coins, bronze mirrors, paintings and calligraphy and so on, among which two pieces of cultural relics were recommended as grade-one cultural relics, 14 pieces as grade-two and 424 pieces as grade-three. There are four essential exhibitions, which are exhibitions of historical civilization, Linchuan culture, revolution history in eastern Jiangxi Province and the dinosaur kingdom. It is a comprehensive museum, where the collections and exhibitions of cultural relics, education and academic research as well as free tour are combined together. It was also titled the third national-level museum, the education base of science and technology of the youth in Jiangxi province, the patriotic educational base of Jiangxi province, and the educational base of national defense in Jiangxi province.

Since it was open to the public for free in 2008, Fuzhou Municipal Museum has held more than 10 exhibitions annually. It has held temporary exhibitions almost every month in recent 3 years with an annual tourist of more than 200,000. Today, Fuzhou Municipal Museum has become an important window through which citizens get to know the civilization process and long cultural history in Fuzhou, a second channel where teenagers receive patriotism education and popular science education. In brief, it is a wonderful place for people to study, travel and rest.
